Wow what a season Mark has been having, he has had some amazing sightings. First the pangolin and now a Caracal on his way to Chitake just after picking up guests from the airstrip. Thank you to the Pooles/Chambers from UK for the use of their beautiful photos which I have just uploaded to the gallery.
Another amazing ineraction Mark was lucky to witness with guests again was between Hyena, Wild Dog and Lion. Whilst waiting for breakfast he could hear the hyena and wild dog making an awful racket so as soon as the guests made an appearance, he decided to go and investigate. When they walked out in to the clearing there was hyena and wild dog having an altication over a kill. What they were lucky enough to witness was a hyena, being seen off by 2 Wild Dog, only to have the 2 Wild dog come careening out of the thicket again this time with a Lion close on their tails. This was all before breakfast!! :-) Another fun encounter for the guests was that of Mudzi one of the famous Mana bulls, came for a close inspection of Mark and his guests whilst they were quietly watching him. I was also priviledge to be in camp one night when a leopard decided to walk quietly through camp, it was just so lovely to watch him stroll through camp as if we were not even there. What made it really special for me was this was only the second time of having a Leopard sighting in the wild in the 20 odd years I have been in the industry. On this last trip that Mark was on he again was priviledge to find a pangolin. He is away again on a canoeing trip but will be back with more updates as to what Mark comes back with.
